Wigan Athletic fan Mike Goodman took part in the famous Wonga Cash Dash Challenge at the Blackpool v Latics game yesterday with £250 and a lot of pride at stake.

The Wonga Cash Dash is a race in two giant zorb balls, across the Bloomfield turf, between one home and one away supporter. The winner will be the fan who crosses the finishing line first, and will earn themselves £250. There is also a £250 donation to Blackpool`s Trinity Hospice, so a good cause also benefits.

I met Mike on the Prom yesterday and he said that he was “really looking forward to the event” and that he was going to use “the doggy paddle style”, unfortunately Mike couldn`t quite beat off his Blackpool opponent’s experience and though he was leading at the half way stage he just didn`t have the stamina to hold on to take the prize (see video below).

Mike Goodman, revved up and ready for the Wonga Cash Dash Challenge

Unlucky Mike, you gave it a real go, that`s what matters.
