Wigan have decided not to take up their option to purchase Mido, according to local media reports on Teeside but are reportedly still interested in his team mate Matthew Bates.

Bates is out of contract next month and can therefore move on a free.

Bates is being quoted as saying he wishes to continue playing in the Premeir League but Wigan face competition from West Ham for his signiture.
