The Wigan Athletic v Bradford City Capital One 4th Round cup tie will refereed by Wiltshire official Roger East

Who?

Roger East, the 47 year old referee, you know the one, he took charge of his first Premier League match earlier this season at the Liberty Stadium when Swansea drew with Sunderland 2-2, made his mark with a controversial dismissal of Swans star Michu for high feet

He was also in charge of the Fulham win over West Brom, sending of the Baggies striker Peter Odemwingie, bit of a pattern developing.

The majority of East’s games so far this season though have been at Championship level and this will be his first time in charge of either the Latics or Bradford

The sales executive progressed through the local leagues up to the Conference before becoming an assistant in 2000. He ran the line in the 2004 FA cup final and the 2006 Community Shield, he went on to the National list of referees in 2006. He was in charge of last seasons League 1 play-off final between Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United and was given his first Premier League game this season.
