Wigan Athletic striker Mauro Boselli`s loan move to Serie A club Genoa has hit a problem after the Argentine player failed his medical due to a muscle tear, according to reports in Corriere dello Sport.

Boselli is reportedly suffering from an 8mm muscular lesion in his leg, the injury that kept him out of the Latics team for last weekends FA Cup tie at Hull, and now Genoa are refusing to complete the loan move under the original conditions.

It is believed that the Latics are in dialogue with the Italian club about how to resolve the deal but the move is in danger of collapsing.

If Boselli stays at the Latics then it would be unlikely that the proposed loan move for Monterrey and Chile striker Humberto Suazo would go ahead.
