Wigan Athletic travel to Boundary Park on Saturday to face Oldham Athletic in round 3 of this season`s League One fixtures.

In this battle of the Latics, Oldham earned two draws against Wigan during the 2015/16 campaign and John Sheridan`s side would surely be content with a repeat of those stalemates.

Sherdian`s men have lost all three of their competitive matches so far this season and failed to win their five pre-season friendlies prior to that including draws against Curzon Ashton and Accrington Stanley and defeat at the hands of a Manchester United Xl.

Wigan have a polar opposite record after winning both league fixtures so far this season, defeating Blackpool 2-1 in the League Cup and coming out of their pre-season schedule unbeaten.

Oldham striker Darius Osei is fit for Saturday`s Lancashire derby after recovering from injury, but former Sheffield United midfielder Ryan Flynn is a doubt. Belgian winger Gyamfi Kyeremeh could make his debut for Oldham after joining from Eintracht Braunschweig of the German second tier.

The visitors will be without Craig Morgan who last week picked up a hip injury which has ruled him out for the next few months. Shaun MacDonald remains on the sidelines through injury while Max Power, Jack Byrne and Omar Bogle remain separated from the first team squad.

Paul Cook is not expected to make changes to the side that defeated Bury 4-1 at the DW Stadium last time out.

Wigan are 11/10 for the win and 5/2 to score in both halves (William Hill).
