Man City V Wigan – Kak a load of this!

The big news that I’m sure all have heard is that Kaka might be on his way to Eastlands. It would be nice to see the balance of power go in favour of the blues for once as the dominant force of Manchester but I don’t see it happening just yet. If the Blues fail in their bid to sign Kaka, they’ll go for another superstar but I just think United will hold out for a little time to come yet.

For me, when Ronaldo goes, because he really is a one of a kind player, then it might affect United because there really aren’t too many players that are in Cristiano Ronaldo’s league. However, I do think Alex Ferguson is a shrewd operator so he’ll have a plan. So the battle for the balance of power has taken a new twist so it’ll be good to see who will finally come out on top in years down the line.

Concentrating on the game at Eastlands, Man City have got Robinho De Souza back in their attacking role but he’s a player who for me has severely disappointed – I expected really big things from Robinho but although he’s done OK and nothing more, he hasn’t excelled as expected which, if you compare him to the likes of Wilson Palacios, who has done spectacularly, you’ll know what I mean. Palacios might not have got many goals but he brings something to the team Robinho doesn’t and when you look at the league table, its hard to argue otherwise.

Of note, Wigan have never lost (touch wood) to Manchester City and I think that run will continue today. Man City are shaky at home and without Wright Phillips, that’s going to affect their play and although Robinho is a good player, as has been said with the Kaka saga, one player doesn’t make a team at the end of the day and after Wigan’s noble effort at Old Trafford, I just think that Wigan can snatch a draw at Eastlands.

MAN CITY: PLAYER TO WATCH: ROBINHO
===================================

Robinho will need to be watched as he is a good player and will no doubt cause problems for the back line but I’m sure they’ll have Robinho on their radar, much as I’m sure the City defence will have Emile and Amr on their radars, too.

WIGAN: PLAYER TO WATCH: PALACIOS
================================

Can Palacios give us a great show with his potentially last game? I just have a good feeling Wilson could score today.

ROB’S PREDICTION
================

Man City are a good side, no doubt about it, so why do they under perform? Because although talent in teams is a good thing, its all about gelling and City haven’t done that for me yet. In time they may but Wigan do know each other well at the end of the day and they know a point or three would be great to progress up the ladder. Looking at our rivals fixtures, I’m not too concerned about the outcome but I would love Wigan to snatch a win but I think it will be a hard fought draw for Wigan at Eastlands.
