Wigan Athletic have turned down Birmingham City`s latest offer for Charles N`Zogbia, believed to be in the region of £9 million with Dave Whelan sticking to his guns over his £10 million valuation of the France international.

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish confirmed yesterday (Wednesday) that he had made an improved offer for N`Zogbia, he also said that it would be the final offer too.

‘We have made another bid for Charles and we wait to see if it’s successful or not’ said McLeish

‘We’re awaiting Wigan’s response.

‘If this doesn’t happen, we have to move on to our next target quickly.’

With the transfer deadline set for Tuesday it would look that N`Zogbia to Birmingham isn`t going to happen and the bar has been firmly set at £10 million with no compromise.
