Wigan Athletic have announced the loan signing of Everton striker Conor McAleny until the end of the season.

The 23 year old, 5′ 10 front man has had a spell at Championship club Charlton Athletic earlier this season between September and November, whilst at the Valley, McAleny made 9 appearances for the Addicks but failed to score, he has also spent time on loan at Cardiff, Scunthorpe and Brentford.

Latics boss Gary Caldwell said – ‘Conor is someone we were looking at last summer and have been keeping a close eye.

‘He’s a young player hungry to prove himself and we are delighted he will be able to do that with us for the rest of the season.’
