It is being reported by a couple of news outlets that the Latics have made an enquiry to Manchester City about Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Bolton are definitely in the hunt for the diminutive winger and wouldn’t welcome Roberto Martinez making a cheeky bid, after all he wouldn’t get to see much of the ball at the Reebok under professor Coyle’s footballing philosophy, whilst at least the Latics attempt to play football.

Bolton look destined for a relegation scrap this coming season, they finished the last campaign in dreadful form with Coyle being found wanting in the closing stages to the season, with the likelihood that star man Gary Cahill will be on his way and no chance of a return of loanee goalscorer Daniel Sturridge, Bolton look weak at both ends of the pitch.

In contrast the Latics can offer Wright-Phillips a chance to play in a team that have found their feet, playing some excellent football and using the wide men at every opportunity, also a side that finished the season in super form and will surely carry that through to the new season.

SWP the choice is yours, a team full of old cloggers, playing dreadful un-inspired football, under a manager that has been found out but he’s so far up his own arse that he believes all his hype, or be part of a young dynamic side that is on the cusp of really doing something special, with an inspirational manager, hmm I know which I`d choose, but then again I am not Shaun Wright-Phillips
