The Wigan Athletic ‘Junior Stripes Party` a rip roaring success

Latics first team players all turned up for the Junior Stripes Half Term Party last week at the DW Stadium. The event, which was postponed from Christmas when freezing conditions made the roads around the stadium a little hazardous, was deemed a huge success by organisers.

Captain Gary Caldwell was there and he spoke on behalf of the players. ‘It’s absolutely no bother to come and meet the junior supporters,’ he said, ‘they are the future of the club and it’s clear to see how much they enjoy meeting the players and having a picture, an autograph or just a wee chat with us.

‘It was a shame for them when the event had to be postponed at Christmas, so it’s great that we’ve been able to reorganise it for now. Better late than never!!’
