Wigan Athletic have had a bid accepted by Argentina clubs Estudiantes and Boca Juniors for striker Mauro Boselli according to Estudiantes official website, both clubs have a 50% share in the player.

The Latics made an offer for the player last week but it was rejected because it hadnt reached the release clause of $10 million, Estudiantes website says a new acceptable bid has been sent by fax from Wigan

There is no mention of the fee on the Estudiantes site but anywhere from £5.7 – £6.9 million is being claimed from various sources, what is clear is that the Latics have permission to talk terms with a top striker who has bagged 32 goals in 57 games for Estudiantes.

Roberto Martinez obviously means business as he builds for the new season and the Boselli move is a statement of intent
