News from the Latics camp is that goalkeeper Jakob Haugaard has injured his shoulder and been ruled out for the rest of the season, leaving the way clear for Matt Gilks to reclaim his place between the sticks.

More good news on the injury front with boss Graham Barrow revealing that Omar Bogle and Reece Burke are ready to rejoin the squad. Barrow is also been toying with the idea of starting Nick Powell from the off, but says he isn’t 100% sure which way to go.

Speaking on injuries and team selection Latics boss Graham Barrow said – ”Matt Gilks will play in goal because Jakob Haugaard has torn a shoulder muscle.

”It happened during the game the other day so he’s gone back to Stoke now and the medical team there have more or less written him off for this season.

”We’ll leave it late to make decisions on Omar Bogle and Reece Burke.

”Omar would be a gamble but it could be one worth taking, Reece has played games for West Ham in his recovery and has trained with us all week.”

On Powell, Barrow said – ”He could start against Cardiff for the right reasons but he could also not start for different reasons”

Well there you have it, conclusive!

My guess at the starting XI would be – Gilks, Hanson, Buxton, Burn, Warnock, MacDonald, Power, Morsy, Colclough, Jacobs, Obertan.

Powell will definitely get on at some point and if we are desperate we could see Bogle thrown on late in the game too. Hopefully it won’t come to that.
