Latics face two winnable games before embarking on another tough run against the big boys

Portsmouth at the JJB on Saturday and then a trip to St.Andrews to face Birmingham a week later offer Chris Hutchings side a chance to get their season back on track

After conceivably being robbed of the points by the visiting Liverpool team we were out played at Old Trafford by a Manchester United side with half its defence missing, not that we noticed

The next two games are not only important in terms of getting points on the board but also psychologically if we are to turn the season around and avoid another relegation battle

It cant be stressed how much we have missed Heskey, Valencia, Landzaat and Sibierski in recent weeks and our attacking threat has lacked any serious pace

Lets hope that the international break has helped get the injuries to most of the players cleared up and we can look forward to some positive performances

Following the Birmingham game Latics face Chelsea at the JJB and then travel to North London twice to play Arsenal and Spurs who surely will turn their season around before too long

Will the Latics mange to pull out of trouble this season?
