The Latics played out a great team performance to beat Stoke 2-0 at the DW Stadium, Vital Wigan member Adam Vincent, aka DiamesLoveChild, provides us with his player ratings.

Over to you Adam:

Al-Habsi: 7
Did not have to do anything at all today, but he caught, gathered and distributed when needed, so a steady performance by our big Omani lad.

Alcaraz: 8
Great goal by Antolin loves to come forward but other than that the last few games he has really upped his performance and has been playing very well, the goal showed it.

Caldwell: 7
Not the hero this week but one thing what did catch the eye was his very good tackle on Jerome, much underrated player and has been one of our best players this season!

Figueroa: 7
All 3 defenders really got a great understanding with each other, all 3 love to get forward and are good on the ball, you saw a lot of forward runs by Maynor today, just a shame his left foot strike did not go in!

Boyce: 7
Well, he could of scored today and we all know he aint a full on wing back, but he plays it the best he can and some of the link up play with Moses was pure quality, he still has pace and he can dribble the ball, just a minor blip with the clearance in the 1st half.

Beausejour: 8
We all would agree we would not be full of confidence if he went one on one but his delivery, passing and safe play is so good, he set up Antolin with a peach of a cross, and was one of our main threats today, he really has been brilliant in the LWB role.

McCarthy: 7
I always saw McCarthy as a hard working footballer but he showed confidence today, he needed it because he really does know how to look for the ball and pass it, he reads the game well and did great at tracking back, Dean Whitehead had no chance.

McArthur: 7
He has a lot more industry in him but he is the player who you will see in both boxes and can hold the ball, another technical hardworking player, did not see as much as you would like today but his industrial side which is needed against Stoke was very good!

Maloney: 9
My personal MOTM, this guy has added something completely different to the team, if there was a player we needed it was N’Zogbia but Shaun seems to be very similar, he always wants the ball, finds spaces and does good forward passes, if he needs to take someone on he will, He played with Jean today, was unlucky not to score and always looked a threat as soon the ball went to him.

Moses: 8
Took his goal well, I think Moses is the only player who is just confident in nature, pressure never really fazes him and he makes players look completely silly, dummying Begovic like a school boy.

Di Santo: 7
I do like Di Santo, his work rate is fantastic, he is quite static though when in the box, once he finds that movement, I am positive he will be a lethal striker, had a one on one today, only top class strikers would have scored that, and Di Santo is not quite there, yet! Though never slate him, his work rate is admirable and let`s be fair, if it was not for that work rate he would have not been one on one in the first place.

Subs:
Sammon: 6

Not enough time, a six, in my opinion, is a starting rating, I guess his chasing down could have been a cause for our second, so good job!

Watson: 6
I do love Watson, he set up Jean well, and is so comfortable on the ball, I would like to see him in the middle in 3-4-3.

Jordi: 7
Got a 7 for signing his new deal, came on got a good reception got stuck in and simply did his job, some fans who hate either leave him alone, or support him.
