Paul Jewell says Jimmy Bullard, who has been moved out wide to make space for Damien Francis and Graham Kavanagh in the centre of midfield, will do well in his new role.

‘Looking at the ProZone statistics, most of our attacking play comes down the right. On the other side we have Lee McCulloch, who is a right-footed player and prefers to come inside. That is the shape of our team, that is how we do things here and so far it’s worked well for us. Jimmy himself would prefer to play in the centre of midfield because he is not naturally a winger. But we will get less exposed as a team that way because we play quite narrow and tight in the middle of the park.’

Adding ‘There’s a lot more to come from Jimmy, and while he’s in a slightly unfamiliar position, we feel he can benefit the team out there at the moment. Kav and Damien are doing well in the centre, and their play complements Jimmy well.’
