Reports in Spain are suggesting that Wigan Athletic are about to tie up a deal for Manchester City left back Javier Garrido for a fee of around £1.5 million.

The 25 year old joined City from Real Sociedad and has made 49 appearances scoring 2 goals but he has struggled to make any real impact playing under three different managers.

If Garrido does come in then this would shed a major doubt over current left back Maynor Figueroa who has been linked with a big money move away from the DW Stadium for almost a year now with Sunderland having had two bids turned down for the Honduras international.
