Wigan Athletic have signed winger Jamie Walker from Scottish Premiership side Hearts on a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Rangers were also said to be interested in signing the attacker, but Paul Cook made signing him a top priority for the club.

Recently we’ve struggled to break down defensive-minded sides, however the Scottish winger offers a different threat to the likes of Jacobs and Powell. Speaking in his interview, Walker admitted he enjoys beating defenders with his pace, while also chipping in with goals.

This could prove to be a very astute signing from Paul Cook. He is very highly rated by Scottish fans, hopefully he can hit the ground running and help us achieve promotion.
