Wigan Athletic received some good news regarding attacking midfield man Victor Moses. The Nigeria international was injured in Saturdays win at Anfield when Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel kicked him flush in the jaw, Latics were awarded a penalty as a result but Moses had to leave the field he was in so much pain and he was substituted

First fears were that he’d fractured his jaw, fortunately following a visit to hospital and subsequent scans it has now been confirmed that there was no fracture and Moses could even be declared fit in time for the visit of Stoke to the DW Stadium this weekend.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez is obviously delighted with the news and speaking to the clubs official website Martinez said:‘We got him checked out straight away in the hospital because there was the potential for a fractured bone in his face’

‘The results came back really positive and there was no fracture which allows us to treat him.

‘We will see within the next few days whether he is available for selection on Saturday.’
