Wigan Athletic striker Hugo Rodallega is looking set to make an early comeback from injury and to feature in some capacity in tomorrow’s bottom three clash with neighbours Bolton Wanderers.
Rodallega sustained his injury away at Everton on the 17th September and first diagnosis suggested it would be a long road to recovery for the Colombia international, but with the injury not as bad as first feared Latics all time Premier League record goal scorer is set for an early return to action.
Latics boos Roberto Martinez says he would like his hit man to feature tomorrow but won’t play him if he isn’t right, speaking to the Wigan Evening Post Martinez said: “Of course, we are desperate to have him available, but I don’t want to have him back for tomorrow and then unavailable for the next few weeks.
“If it’s not right for Hugo, it’s not right for anyone, it’s not right for the team and it`s not right for me.
“Let’s not forget it’s only four weeks since we were all fearing the worst, so we don’t want to rush things now.
“We’ll leave it until the last possible moment before making a decision, but it’ll be a decision that’s in the best and long-term interests of the football club and not just for tomorrow.”
