Wigan Athletic and England centre forward Emile Heskey had a screw inserted into his foot during an operation on his injured metatarsal yesterday (Monday)

A scan revealed that Heskey suffered a stress fracture to the fifth metatarsal of his right foot during the 1-1 draw with Fulham on Saturday

Latics club physio Alan Tomlinson has refused to set a target for Heskey`s return but says that he was delighted with the speed of treatment stating the Heskey was on his way to hospital before the first half had finished
