The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Wigan Athletic and Scunthorpe United this Saturday.
Wigan Athletic host Scunthorpe United on Saturday March 10 for the game at the DW Stadium and the match carries a 3pm kick off.
Referee: Dean Whitestone
Assistant Refs: Paul Newhouse and Gareth Mellor
Fourth Official: Nigel Smith
Match Day referee Whitestone has officiated 30 games in 2017/18, showing 80 yellow cards and three red cards so far.
He took in 43 games in 2016/17 with a return of 119 yellow cards and three red cards.
He took charge of 39 matches in 2015/16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 119 yellow cards and two red cards.
He was most card happy in the match between Bristol Rovers and Mansfield in March, with eight yellows being shown. Prior to that Colchester and Scunthorpe in August saw seven yellows being shown and he also showed seven in the game between Middlesbrough and Blackburn in February.
Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of the players edge closer to automatic bans.
