Reports in Honduras say that Hendry Thomas is set to leave Deportivo Olimpia and join Wigan Athletic once their current campaign ends, a full 12 months after the deal was first knocked back by immigration because Thomas couldn`t get a work permit.

In the past year Hendry Thomas has played the required amount of international games to qualify for a work permit and with his current club Olimpia in the semi-finals of the Honduras Championship play-offs he has a maximum of 3 games left before jetting over to the UK and teaming up with the Latics.

The 24 year old midfield man is reportedly signing for £1.5 million and if Wilson Palacios and Maynor Figueroa are a yard stick then this will be another good piece of business by Latics boss Steve Bruce.
