The deal to bring Hamilton Academicals star James McArthur to Wigan Athletic looks set to be completed before the end of this week with various reports in both Scotland and England claiming its all but done.

McArthur has been close to joining the Latics for nigh on 10 weeks though a deal between the two clubs was never finalised or agreed; now it appears that cash plus a player loan has met agreement from both parties.

The BBC are revealing that £400,000 and Jonathon Routledge will be heading north though the money is a permanent switch Routledge will be going just for one season. This has been a drawn out transfer saga but it looks to be coming to a close this week.
