Fulham have rejected an offer for midfielder Michael Brown from Chris Hutchings` Wigan Athletic.

Brown signed for the Cottagers from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2006.

Brown started his career with Manchester City in the mid-1990s, his all-action style winning him England Under-21 honours and favour with the Maine Road faithful.

He moved on to Sheffield United in 2000, where Blades fans also appreciated his box-to-box style.

He added goalscoring to his game in South Yorkshire, and was the outstanding player in the Red and Whites’ memorable 2002/03 campaign, top-scoring with 22.

Moved to Spurs in January 2004 and opened his account for his new club in the 4-4 draw with Leicester the following month.

The 30 year old Hartlepool born midfielder would inject some bite into the Latics midfield and maybe Hutchings will go back with an improved offer
