Wigan Athletic defender Maynor Figueroa had an excellent game for Honduras in Johannesburg last night when Los Catrachos faced a rampant Spain side in their second world cup group H match.

Figgy played at centre back and it seemed a little strange to watch him play there but he did very well against wave after wave of Spanish attacks and the fact that the final score was kept down to 2-0 was a testament to his performance.

Honduras now face Switzerland on Friday in a game they must win if they are to have any chance of progressing through to the knock out stage of the competition
