Welcome to Vital Latics feature ‘Far Away Fans` and today we are talking to moha, better known to Vital Wigan regulars as Magedo

Are you male/female.
Male

I know Magedo isn`t from these shores, where you from?

I’m from Cairo but I was actually born in el Doha (Qatar) and lived there for about 6 years and I’ve been living in Cairo for 16 years now.

Magedo

Fascinating Magedo, whats life like in Cairo and is football a big sport there?

Well well, first of all you cannot imagine how difficult life is here in Cairo, its is crowded , noisy , polluted , people fall out with each other all the time because they can’t stand the situation that they’re living in.

I will give you some important advice, if any tourist wants to visit Egypt forget about Cairo; you can stay in Cairo for one night in a Hotel at the Nile and a visit to the Pyramids then enjoy you holiday in many other places like Sharm el Sheikh, Hurgada, Luxor & Aswan there are a lot more places to visit but I can say the only advantage in Cairo is the weather especially in these three seasons Winter Spring and Autumn

Football, they are crazy about it here you can see people playing everywhere in the streets, clubs, gardens anywhere.. The Big dream for the 80 million is only one THE WORLD CUP

So Magedo, why that particular user name?

My last name is Mageed people always call you with your last name so I thought Magedo is much better than Mageed 😉

Are you working, a student or a multi-millionaire?

Still student I’m in Faculty of Commerce and I’ve got one year left to graduate and I know that I’m not a successful person in my studying life thats becouse the whole wrong education style in here

How did you become a Latics fan?

Well, actually when I knew that Zaki is close to Latics move I decided to discover that Club I knew Wigan before as I always like the English premier league since I was a student at the school but I didn’t know much about the club so I started to search and search about anything related to the Latics till I got here and I’ve known a great things really since then I decided to become a Latics supporter doesn’t matter if there are any Egyptians playing for the club or not.

Nice one Magedo

Do you get to see Latics games often?

Well I always used to watch most of the Premier league matches on TV but that was 2 years ago because of the ART Satellite Channels now they lost the rights and its gone to Showtime Channels which I don’t have .. as for now I only watch the Latics games on the internet though its not an easy way especially I have a 256k speed so yes I always try to see Latics games

Magedo at home in Cairo

Would you travel to the UK to watch the Latics and if you could chose the opponents to be any team in the world who would you choose and why?

Simply yes I would as I said before I always like the English atmosphere I like everything about the English football you don’t know how much I wait for the moment to support the Latics from the JJB… as for the opponents I don’t know its a difficult choice for me but I’d say if you say any team in the world I’d pick Real Madrid

Why?

Because they have a lot of money they can buy any player at the moment with any fee as they can rule the world or something.

What is your proudest moment as a Latics fan?

Another difficult question as I’m a new Latics fan I still need to know more and more but I would say I’m proud at the moment that no body is dare to say that we’re a small club with no ambitions.

Who is your favourite all time Latics player?

I see its Zaki thought he’s done more than we need from him we never got one like him before I guess.

Pick an all time Latics 11 and manager that you would love to be at the JJB.

Kirkland – Belleti – Ferdinand – Alex – Evra – Palacios – Valencia – Gerrard – Lampard- Zaki – Torres

Manager : Steve Bruce

Where do you see us going in the future and what are your realistic hopes for the club?

We’re getting into Europe I see that is likely to happen just with a bit of luck… and I hope for top 4 finish and a Champions league participation that will lead us to the Premier League trophy.

Which player would you love to see sign for the Latics?

I’d like to see some great players in a Wigan shirt but sure there is only one at the moment and that will be The ZAk the Bulldozer, lets hope for a permanent move.

Thanks for the interview Magedo I always enjoy reading your posts and maybe one day we could meet at the JJB?take care
