Wigan Athletic defender Emmerson Boyce can’t wait for the real stuff to begin on Saturday when Norwich City visit the DW Stadium for the season’s opener.

Mr Wigan Athletic is in his sixth season with the club and he’s as eager as ever to get underway.

Boycey was hit with a hamstring injury last term which saw him miss a chunk of games mid-season, being restricted to just 20 Premier League starts, it’s no coincidence though that the spell of games he missed were during the clubs worst run last season, Boyce is a pivotal member of the side.

So with a good preseason under his belt, the fans favourite is raring to go, speaking to the clubs official site Boycey said: ‘Pre-season has gone well so far and with just a week to go before the Norwich game we’re all eager to get the new season underway.’
