Wigan Athletic defender Emmerson Boyce is one player that looks to have really benefited from the clubs training camp in La Manga.
The ever popular Boycey has missed a large chunk of the season following a hamstring injury that he sustained back in October in the home game against Bolton, he made a tentative return to the first team squad in January but broke down again following the win over Blackburn at the beginning of February.
The hamstring injury has restricted the 31 year old to just 13 appearances this season and his steadying influence has been sorely missed, now with the news that Boyce will be back in contention for the Birmingham game that will be a massive boost to the team.
Latics boss Roberto Martinez says that being out in La Manga has helped the staff speed up Boyce`s recovery and that they are pleased with his progress, speaking to Latics Player Martinez said: ‘A big advantage of being out here in La Manga is that Emmerson Boyce has been able to complete three sessions each day, and of course we can look after his recovery 24-7.
‘On Thursday he is due to join the group in training which is excellent news and a sign that we have accelerated his recovery process by being here.’
