Wigan Athletic along with Premier League rivals Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Swansea City midfield player Darren Pratley who`s contract with the Swans expires at the end of the season.

25 year old Pratley was taken to the Liberty Stadium by Latics boss Roberto Martinez when he signed him from Fulham for £100,000 in June 2006, in his time in South Wales the London born player has made over 150 appearances for the Championship club scoring 20 goals.

Pratley, who played against the Latics last week in the Carling Cup, could walk away from Swansea on a free transfer in the summer so boss Brendan Rodgers could be tempted to cash in come January and there is likely to be a lot more clubs than Newcastle and the Latics showing an interest in the classy player
