Wigan Athletic striker Conor Sammon says that the Latics have the belief, the confidence and the quality to keep themselves in the Premier League despite being bottom with just seven games to go.

Speaking to Graham Lovett on Latics Player the former Kilmarnock hit man says that with the table being so tight and up to ten teams battling to avoid relegation, it is important to concentrate on our own results and forget what everyone else is doing.

Sammon told Latics Player: “We`ve got a lot of belief, we feel we can get ourselves out of the position that we`re in.

“We`re confident and have a lot of quality in the team and we will keep working hard on the training park”

“I`ve never seen anything like it, 8, 9, 10 teams can get dragged in but we`ve just got to concentrate on ourselves and forget about everyone else and look to get our points on the board

“We just take it one game at a time, that`s all we can do”
