Wigan Athletic striker Conor Sammon is finally set to make his long mooted move to Championship club Derby County after talks over personal terms have been agreed, the Latics are set to receive a transfer fee of £1.2 million

The big Irishman always gave his all for the Latics, but just one goal in 32 appearances didn’t exactly set the DW Stadium on fire. Sammon carved his reputation out at SPL side Kilmarnock and fine goalscoring exploits north of the border convinced Latics manager Roberto Martinez to take a punt on the 25 year old, sadly it just didn’t happen for him at Wigan

Kilmarnock are due a small percentage of the fee, being reported in Scotland as £100,000

Will we ever forget Sammon’s one goal, which came against West Ham in 2010? I won’t worth every penny of the fee we paid Kilmarnock, good luck Conor
