Wigan Athletic new recruit Cho Won-hee arrived at the club over the weekend and was immediately told to take 5, no not five minutes but the squad number 5 vacated by Wilson Palacios` departure to Spurs.

Cho will come into contention for a place in the squad on Saturday at Sunderland and with Lee Cattermole suspended the South Korea international should get a place on the bench at least.

Latics boss Steve Bruce is impressed with Cho and his attitude on the pitch which according to Bruce is terrific, Bruce told reporters:

“I could tell straight away that he was a good player. I think he can make a significant impact in the Premier League, that is the reason we are signing him.

“He is fast, strong, determined and has a terrific attitude on and off the field”
