Wigan Athletic supporters, along with fans of other clubs from around the North West, took advantage of a great offer from Bury FC today and attended the League 2 fixture against Accrington Stanley at Gigg Lane.

Bury, who are being innovative in trying to raise their attendances, gave a special entry price of just £5 to supporters of Premier League clubs on production of their season ticket for todays special feature and boy did it turn out to be value for money.

Bury won the game 3-0, Stanley had two players sent off and according to Vital Latics member chriswafc …it was a refreshing change to the Premier league…, it also appears to have been a success off the pitch for Bury who with an average attendance so far this season 3,353 increased that to 4,164 for todays game.

Great stuff and more of the same please
