An outstanding display by Wigan at the JJB Stadium dented Arsenal’s title challenge as they fully deserved their point against the league leaders.

Manager Steve Bruce hailed the progress of Wilson Palacios in midfield, who he says more than matched Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas and Mathieu Flamini on the day and believes the sides’ new resilience at home is key in helping them avoid the drop, despite an awful pitch.
