Sky Sports are reporting that Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is considering making an offer to bring Rangers and Algeria international defender Madjid Bougherra to the DW stadium.

The former Crewe, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic player joined Rangers in 2008 in the wake of interest from several other clubs including West Brom and Real Betis, but with the prospect of Champions League football the Glasgow giants managed to secure Bougherra`s services for a fee of £2 million.

Latics are joined by French champions Bordeaux who would like to take the 26 year old back to the country of his birth and they too can offer Champions League football for the coming season, a fee of around £5 million is believed to be necessary to make Rangers sell.
