Rafa Benitez spoke the words Wigan boss Paul Jewell didn`t want to hear, in an interview with Sky Sports, he said he had told his players that they were playing for a place in the starting eleven on Wednesday at Chelsea.
Benitez went on to say that he did not expect a repeat of the 4-0 score line Liverpool won by at the JJB early in the season, but he was expecting a good display from his team.
Paul Jewell must overcome his inferiority complex against the big four in this division; the Latics have not taken a point off Liverpool, Arsenal Chelsea or Manchester United since entry into the Premier League.
This is a game were, if relegation is to be avoided, Jewell`s side needed to find at least a point.
