Wigan Athletic midfield man Ben Watson is loving every minute of his return to the Premier League and he has his eyes set on Europa League qualification

Watson was just a teenager the last time he played top flight football and that was with Crystal Palace who struggled all season and ended up getting relegated, a tough introduction to the realities of life at the top for the young Watson.

Second time round though and he is finding life a little easier, he says he is in a much better side with different targets, like Europe, Watson told the Wigan Evening Post:

‘To be back in the Premier League really is great for me, if anything, it’s a bit easier second time around.

‘I’m a bit older, more experienced as a player, and no disrespect to Palace, but I’m in a better team.

‘At Palace we struggled that season in the Premier League and it was a case of keeping our heads above water.

‘But here, there’s a genuine chance of chasing a European spot so the circumstances are totally different.’

Watson has been a bit of a revelation since he joined the Latics, keep going Ben that Euro spot is still available
