Wigan Athletic’s very own Jean Beausejour, well he is still under contract until July 1st, will take his place at the Arena Pantanal in the Brazilian city of Cuiabá this evening, as my outside bet to win the tournament, Chile, get their campaign underway with their first group game against Australia.
With 60 caps under his belt Beausejour is no stranger to the international scene, he enjoyed a good tournament in South Africa 2010 and he is still an integral part of Jorge Sampaoli’s squad, he proved against England back in November 2013 that he can make a big impact at this level and personally I am looking forward to watching ‘our’ Jean in action.
Chile, for me, are the exciting team of this world cup, many pundits favour a South American side to go all the way, with that in mind you can’t look beyond the Chilean’s, Arturo Vidal has been declared fit, the Juventus star suffered swelling to his knee following an operation, giving a massive boost and with Alexis Sanchez leading the forward line I can see Beausejour and co taking the tournament by storm.
