Sky Sports commentator and match summariser Andy Walker was impressed by the Latics fighting spirit in the 2-2 draw with Stoke at the DW Stadium.

Walker was at the game as summariser for Sky Sports and he says: “If heart, character and fighting spirit are what you need to survive in this division then I think Wigan will go far”

The former Celtic striker went on to say that even though the Latics fell behind twice they came back strong and could have snatched it when Charles N`Zogbia`s late effort was pushed onto the post by Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic.

Walker continued: “Wigan showed the fighting spirit you need to stay in the division and Roberto Martinez will have seen enough in his team this afternoon to know they wont give up without a fight”
