Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi has commented on the fantastic effort made by the Latics fans when they walked from the DW Stadium to the Reebok Stadium on Saturday ahead of Latics clash with local rivals Bolton Wanderers

Speaking to the clubs official website Ali said that the team wanted to make sure that the fans got some reward for their ‘fantastic’ effort.

Ali said: ‘The fans were fantastic, and when we left the hotel on our way to the Reebok Stadium we saw all the fans making the walk from the DW Stadium for Emma Hoolin.

‘It was special and we wanted to give them something back after that effort and for the tremendous support they gave us throughout the game.’

The Latics are due to fly out to Oman today (Tuesday) where they will undertake some warm weather training and play a friendly against the Oman national side on Saturday
