It is being reported that Latics great midfield hope signing of the summer Adam Forshaw is set to move to Championship rivals and promotion chasing Middlesbrough.
Forshaw was chased all summer by former Latics boss Uwe Rösler, the former Brentford midfield man was his marquee signing of the last transfer window, the 23 year old was voted the 2013/14 League 1 player of the season and great things were expected of him.
Unfortunately we appear to be shipping out all saleable assets at the moment, whilst Forshaw hasn’t set the place on fire there has been enough potential evident to suggest that he could settle into become a fantastic signing, but it looks like it isn’t to be.
The fee being reported is around the £2m to £2.5 million mark.
We look financially to be in desperate straits? From an FA Cup winning Premier League side to a skint League 1 club in the space of two years, lack of parachute payments are set to take their toll. Some seriously hard questions need to be asked.
Who next? Huws, Perch, McClean, McCann, any chance of a statement on what is happening from the hierarchy at the club, and by that I don’t mean the manager, but the people who appear to be making the decisions, or are we, the fans, just expected to sit back and watch as the club gets dismantled in front of our eyes without a word from the owner or CEO.
