A November to Remember

With the Annualis Horribalis that is October out of the way thoughts now turn to the five games in November

Latics should have been entering November full of optimism but a run of four straight defeats in which only one (Liverpool)could be considered an unlucky result sees us approaching the new month with trepidation.

Yet a look at the fixtures for this month sees us with three home gamea agaisnt Everton who aren’t breaking any pots this season and Stoke and WBA who are expected to be in the lower reaches of the league come May time.

Add away matches at financially troubled Portsmouth and ‘for sale’ Newcastle and a Latics firing on all cylinders should be confident of a decent haul.

With a tricky December ahead November could well turn out to be a pivotal month which defines our season. A good points haul and we can kick on for midtable. A poor haul espicially with three of the five teams around us currently and we would be playing catch up and may not make it.

Lets hope starting on Saturday whatever the problems there are within the team are ironed out and three points will be secured

Our next point target should be Stoke… Forget Pompey.

can’t afford to write off any games. Last night would have been one we targeted but anohter abject performance has left us in the mire. We have to go for every point now and even one on Saturday would be a moral victory

I know baskers but realistically, its going to be tough to get anything at Fratton Park. I’m not too concerned about this game but just hope we return to winning ways against Stoke – the fans ruddy deserve it. If we can’t perform in the next two games, the fans may ask for Steve Bruce to be fired so we can bring in another manager who can sort this mess out.
